Kettlebells improve explosiveness in athletic events?

I just received the kettlebell video and watched it last night. I firmly believe that these exercises will do wonders for general fitness, tone, and fat burn. However, I do have a couple questions.

In regards to developing explosiveness for athletics, specifically hip explosiveness and higher vertical jump, will the kettlebell exercises assist in these exercises?

Currently for leg strength, I am doing full squats and deadlifts. I eventually aim to learn the Olympic lifts to increase my strength and explosiveness.

So my main questions are:

1. What are the differences between doing the cleans, jerks and snatches in kettlebell vs Olympic lifting. Obviously the weights are different, so I'm guessing that the objectives are different as well? Kettlebell aimed more for conditioning and strenght endurance, Olympic style aimed for strength and explosiveness?

2. For explosiveness, I think doing kettlebells would do wonders to help tone body and lose excess fat. However, should my routine still be predominantly PTP, alternated with cycles of Kettlebells for toning?

3. With squats, PTP, kettlebells, and eventually learning Olympic lifting, how do I balance all these different exercises? Should I stick with a couple of them consistently, or should I cycle them around?
